2008: The Baltimore Orioles defeat the Anaheim Angels 5-2, ending a 15-week Sunday losing streak that dates back to April 6, 2008.

2006: The nose landing gear of a U.S. Airways Boeing 737 collapses at Pittsburgh International Airport as the plane pushes away from the terminal. The nose of the jet crashes to the tarmac, injuring one of the 73 passengers on board.

1996: A pipe bomb explodes at Centennial Olympic Park during the Atlanta Olympics, killing one and injuring over 100 others.

1974: The House of Representatives charges President Richard M. Nixon with the first of three articles of impeachment for obstruction of justice after he refuses to release White House tape recordings that contain crucial information regarding the Watergate scandal.
