1991: A Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) MD-80 experiences power loss and crash-lands shortly after takeoff from Stockholm, Sweden. Although the aircraft breaks into three pieces upon impact, all 129 passengers and crew members survive.

1965: The British Petroleum (BP) oil rig Sea Gem capsizes in the North Sea, killing 13 workers.
