This Day in Failure: April 28

2004: New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter goes 0-for-4 in a 5-1 win over the Oakland Athletics and ties the record for the longest hitless streak (0-for-32) in franchise history.
1988: A flight attendant is sucked out of the cabin of an Aloha Airlines Boeing 737-297 over Maui, Hawaii, when an 18-foot portion of the aircraft’s skin rips open during flight. The fuselage failure and subsequent explosive decompression is later attributed to metal fatigue exacerbated by crevice corrosion.
