New Jersey Nets tie consecutive losses record

With Sunday night's 106-87 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, the New Jersey Nets tied the NBA record for most consecutive losses to start a season.

On Sunday night the New Jersey Nets lost to the Los Angeles Lakers 106-87, tying the NBA record for most consecutive losses to begin a season. The Nets joined the Miami Heat (1988-89) and the Los Angeles Clippers (1999) as the only NBA teams to start 0-17.

New Jersey's next chance to get a win will come on Wednesday Dec. 2 at home against the Dallas Mavericks (12-5, 7-3 on the road, first place in the Southwest division).

On Dec. 4 the Nets have a home game against the Charlotte Bobcats (7-9, 1-7 on the road), followed by a meeting with the New York Knicks (3-14) at Madison Square Garden on Dec. 6. 

New Jersey fired head coach Lawrence Frank prior to the Lakers game. Frank was in the final year of a $4 million per year contract.
