Trinette Robinson, 11, of Bristol, Connecticut, won the 35th annual National Odor-Eaters Rotten Sneaker contest this morning.

For her efforts she’ll take home $2,500, the Golden Sneaker trophy, a three-day/two-night all-expense-paid trip to New York City and tickets to the Broadway show The Lion King, as well as a year’s supply of Odor-Eaters products. Last but not least, Robinson will have her sneakers enshrined in the Odor-Eaters “Hall of Fumes” and most likely will get to appear on national television within the next day or so.

Robinson said she didn’t do much to the sneakers—purchased at a Payless Shoe store for $12—other than wear them hiking and to summer camp. “One thing I did to get them dirty—I stepped in horse manure,” she admitted in a phone interview with a reporter from the Hartford Courant.

The contest is held each year on or around the first day of spring in Montpelier, Vermont. Learn more about the judges and the history of the Odor-Eaters Rotten Sneaker Contest by reading Failure’s recent feature about the event.
