Jail Bait

Meet the women of Women Behind Bars.

While most men label themselves either a “leg man” or a “breast man,” there exists a Web site that caters to a third, much less common type—we'll call him the “con man.” You know, like Seinfeld's George Castanza, the guy who believes that the ideal relationship is with a woman who's incarcerated. (You always know where she is, you don't have to spend money on her, you only have to see her when you want to, yada, yada, yada.)

For those of you looking to find the prisoner of your dreams, womenbehindbars.com hosts personal Web pages for female convicts in U.S. prisons. Hundreds of ostensibly male-starved ladies are pictured—grouped by age and race—each with a profile that includes her name, age, height and weight, plus her release date and a description of what she's looking for in a man. The service allows you to obtain the postal addresses of as many lady-cons as you'd like at a cost of only three dollars per address (discounts available for six or more).

One vital bit of information the site doesn't provide is what she's in for. Ironically, most of the women claim to be seeking a trustworthy, hard working, intelligent gentleman—they typically allege they're not really bad women, they just made some “bad choices.” For us, one phrase comes to mind: Caveat emptor. Let the buyer beware.
